It all started with a cup of sugar.

 

It started that way and Yoochun was at least 67% more than sure that it should have ended that way. Perhaps it never should have started in the first place, but one cup of sugar turned into two. Three. Four. At least twenty by the end of the month, and a human and a neighbor named Junsu with a pretty smile and an even prettier neck.

 

“Thanks, Yoochun-ssi.” His voice would ring through the dark hallway full of cobwebs and leaks and holes and it didn’t make sense, the way he opened the door down the hall and disappeared.

 

It was time for another glass.

Yoochun had made a silent agreement with himself the day that he died. Walking away from the squealing of tires and the crash and the slide and the sirens and the oh my god without a scratch was enough. Enough with a flash of teeth from a stranger, a sting on his shoulder and the scar shaped like a half moon left in its wake.

 

Enough to bring him to where he was now.

 

Yoochun the vampire. The insomniac, never-drank-blood-from-a-human vampire who couldn’t do anything cool from the movies like flying or fighting or even hissing.

 

“Fuck you, Selene,” he muttered to himself, shuffling towards the fridge. “Fuck you and your body suit.”

 

He pulled out another type O and ripped into the plastic with his teeth.

 

Being a doctor had its advantages.

He practically expected it now, the soft knock on his door that always came between 2:00 and 2:15 in the afternoon, and he always pulled himself from his couch and his paperwork with a sigh, shuffling to the door and swinging it open with the slow grace that came with at least fifty years of practice.

 

Today was no different, and Junsu was no different, smiling brightly up at him with his voice that sprang to life as soon as the door was open, bubbly and cheerful and Yoochun had to fight the urge to cringe away from the sudden noise.

 

“Yoochun-ssi! Hi! Can I borrow a cup of sugar?”

 

There was a brief moment in which Yoochun wondered why. Why did this human keep coming to him, keep smiling at him, keep asking him for a cup of sugar day after day after day? Why did he need so much sugar? Why did Yoochun keep buying sugar just so he wouldn’t have to say no?

 

“Yeah, sure,” he mumbled, and shuffled into the kitchen, holding the same cup as always. The blue glass one with a chip on the side.

 

Pouring the sugar into the cup was also the same. The same hiss as the powder hit the glass and the same pantry completely empty except for the bag of sugar and the one extra for next week. Their meetings never lasted more than ten minutes. Same and same and same every day.

 

He shuffled back into the living room, pressed the cup into Junsu’s hand and tried to ignore the almost scorching heat that came with the brush of fingers. His reward was the same smile as always, and then somewhere along the line, something changed.

 

The glass was slick.

 

“Thank you, Yoochun—ah!”

 

His fingers slipped just barely, just enough. Enough for skin to catch on the chip in the glass just so and a start and the smallest of nicks in his finger. Just enough to pull the blood to the surface, and Yoochun’s gaze lingered as Junsu started to pout.

 

“—not good,” he was saying. “And I just used my last bandaid on—“

 

Yoochun’s fingers circling around his wrist, tight, sudden, were enough to cut him off.

 

“…?” “You won’t need one.”

 

Yoochun’s voice was smooth, and he could feel every erratic pulse of Junsu’s heart the closer his lips got to that finger. That drop of red that was suddenly the center of his universe.

 

His tongue was cold as ice and Junsu shuddered when it made contact with his skin.

 

Yoochun closed his eyes against the sweetness that threatened to overpower his senses, the warmth dripping over his tongue and down his throat and even though it was only a drop it was more than enough. He knew it was the best thing that he had ever tasted, and he didn’t even realize he was sucking on that finger, nearly desperate for more until Junsu pulled back quickly, staring at him with wide eyes and flushed cheeks and his heart was going in overdrive.

 

He left without his usual thank you, leaving Yoochun with nothing but the taste of heaven on his tongue and the thought of a cup of sugar tainted with a drop of red.

 

He licked his lips.

It took three days for the next wave of temptation to crash, and this time it hit harder.

 

It was the middle of the night, dark in the dingy apartment building they lived in since the lighting stopped working and the stairs creaked with every step Yoochun took. Tired. So, so tired, and too many hours at the office, and when was he ever going to get on the sleep schedule he was supposed to have?

 

Another creak, another stair. There was one more flight to go, but he was frozen in his tracks whenever he heard something. Someone. Two someones, and they were close.

 

“Y-Yunho-ah, what’re you--?” “Shh.”

 

Hm, curious. That sounded familiar. More familiar than the light thud against the wall next to the staircase he needed to use, anyway. Great.

 

“But, the stairs, anyone could see and—ngh…” “Sometimes I think you talk too much, Junsuyah.”

 

Junsuyah. Junsu. Of course. It clicked in his brain and Yoochun tried not to eavesdrop, really he did, but it was hard to not be curious about light thuds and whimpers and pants and the occasional moan. Not to mention Junsu’s irresistible scent.

 

A peek around the corner gave him everything he needed to know and much more. It was all too easy to see them there, Junsu pressed against the wall and some sort of beautiful stranger pressed against him, lips locked and it clearly wasn’t the first time they had done this.

 

His eyes lingered on the way Junsu’s fingers ran up and down the stranger’s back, the way that he could see the perfect arch his back was making against the wall and he bit his lip.

 

Approximately 2.7 seconds later, the stranger bit down onto Junsu’s neck. Hard.

 

Junsu let out a loud, half choked moan and Yoochun saw fingers grip onto the stranger’s shirt so hard his knuckles started to turn white, hips jerking up almost reflexively.

 

He turned and disappeared quickly, but not before hearing the word whispered through the darkness in a voice all too familiar.

 

A voice that sent the lust through his veins so strongly that it should have been illegal.

 

“More.”

Yoochun couldn’t wait three days this time, but even so, he wasn’t exactly sure what he was doing standing at the door he was sure was Junsu’s, counting to a hundred in his head before finally sucking it up and knocking on the door.

 

There was a beat of silence. Two, and then some shuffling and a light click as the door opened.

 

Junsu looked surprised, and Yoochun tried not to stare at the marks on his neck.

 

“Can I borrow a cup of sugar?”

 

He didn’t wait for Junsu to invite him in.

Yoochun wasn’t exactly sure how it happened.

 

One second Junsu had been all innocence and obviously nervous, fumbling over his words and trying to explain that no, he didn’t have any sugar and he was really sorry because he knew he owed him so much, and the next Yoochun had him pinned against the wall separating the kitchen and the living room, silence trapped between them.

 

“Shh.”

 

He shushed him gently for good measure, and, without waiting for consent, leaned down to capture those lips underneath his own.

 

Junsu’s eyes were wide and almost afraid, and his first instinct was to jerk slightly, trying to release the hold that Yoochun had on his wrists, keeping him there. But it didn’t take long for him to give in, because something about Yoochun was attractive and intriguing and he wanted more.

 

Yoochun groaned his approval the moment he felt Junsu relaxing underneath him, deepening the kiss with the swipe of his tongue along a full lower lip. Junsu shivered again; it was just like ice.

 

He moaned again whenever Yoochun took that lower lip between his teeth, sucking on it lightly and Junsu couldn’t have any fucking idea how much self control it took him to keep it human, for now anyways. He was struggling against Yoochun’s hold again, but this time for a different reason.

 

Once his hands were released, they couldn’t seem to keep still. They flew over every inch of Yoochun’s body that he had access to, from his shoulders to his chest to his torso back up again to wind into his hair. He was fascinated, and Yoochun didn’t mind.

 

“Junsu.”

 

Yoochun groaned against the nearly scalding heat pressed against him that was so obviously human, and he knew that this probably wasn’t a good idea, but since when had he followed the rules?

 

After all, Junsu was here, kissing him, panting harshly against him and not scared. Not trying to run away, screaming his head off or pulling out a crucifix or something.

 

No, that might come later. But for now …

 

“I want you.”

 

He pulled back, just barely, just enough to look down into Junsu’s eyes properly and there was a beat of silence between them.

 

The burning heat trembled around his neck and pulled him back under.

A little over five minutes later and they had somehow stumbled into what he supposed was Junsu’s bedroom, still kissing and now Junsu was moaning like a virgin every few seconds and if Yoochun hadn’t already been dead he certainly would be now.

 

He climbed slowly on top of a Junsu who was now on his back on the bedsheets, still breathing hard and staring up at him with half lidded eyes and swollen red lips.

 

“I saw you,” he breathed, and Junsu didn’t question it just yet, just wound fingers into long, dark locks of hair and tilted his head back as Yoochun’s lips trailed across his neck, lingering over the pulse point.

 

“Last week…” they ghosted over his collarbone, dipping lower as fingers slid under the simple t-shirt he was wearing, with every intention of ripping it off.

 

“Who were you with, Junsu?”

 

He watched as the human’s chest rose and fell almost rapidly, watched as he processed the question and then decided on an answer, squirming slightly under the touches that stopped. He wanted more.

 

“Nn.. a friend…”

 

Yoochun nodded, slipping the shirt up and over Junsu’s head easily, gaze coming to rest on that pretty little neck all over again. A pretty little neck tainted with some bruises here and there, and he ran cold fingers across them, making Junsu shiver.

 

“Did he put these here?” he murmured, voice low, dark.

 

Junsu nodded breathlessly, and Yoochun’s fingers halted, gaze flitting to his face instead. His voice dropped to barely more than a whisper.

 

“Do you like to be bitten, Junsu?”

 

The sound alone was enough to make Junsu moan softly, tilting his head back and closing his eyes against the feeling. He nodded, and Yoochun licked his lips.

 

Leaning forward, he trails his lips over Junsu’s neck once again, lightly, letting his fangs just barely touch the sensitive skin. Not biting, not yet. Just teasing. Junsu whimpered slightly underneath him and he grinned, sitting up to trail lower.

 

Sweeping touches over the smooth planes of Junsu’s torso, his stomach, all so light that they might not have been there in the first place.

 

Inevitably, he ran into the not so subtle bulge in Junsu’s loose sweatpants, and he grinned, fingers easily slipping them from his body. Those teaching touches came back, ghosting over his thighs, the insides of his legs and Junsu had to grip the sheets and bite his lip to stop himself from just screaming at him already.

 

The first bite was soft, but it made the breath catch in Junsu’s throat. The second wasn’t quite as gentle, and Junsu spread his legs wider, hoping for more.

 

“Yoochun.”

 

The sound of his name caught him slightly off guard, but it didn’t distract him from the task at hand. He continued with his slow torture, biting over and over again the soft skin on the inside of Junsu’s thighs. Harder. Harder. And now Junsu was moaning impatiently, hips moving in search of something, anything to help.

 

Yoochun pulled back with a grin.

 

“I’m gonna suck you dry, babe.”

 

Junsu nearly choked on himself when Yoochun took him in all at once. He wasn’t one for false promises.

Yoochun knew that Junsu wasn’t a virgin, but he didn’t expect him to be so desperate either.

 

He whimpered slightly as Yoochun prepped him, rocking his hips back against his fingers the whole time in an attempt to make him go faster. Eventually, Yoochun gave up, growling slightly, and slicked his own cock with the lube conveniently pulled from Junsu’s dresser drawer before positioning himself at Junsu’s entrance.

 

Well, he was pretty much about to commit an epic vampire fail. But he decided that fucking Junsu would be more than worth it in the end.

 

If the warmth outside of Junsu’s body was unbearable, inside was about a thousand times worse. He was so tight, but god, it hurt so fucking good. 

 

Yoochun groaned against his shoulder, Junsu’s fingers coming up to press into the skin on his back and they moved slowly at first. Slowly, until Junsu really started sweating and moaning and writhing and begging and Yoochun was powerless against it all.

 

He was powerless against the raw desire he felt for Junsu, the bloodlust mixed with something else and he could feel it in the way that Junsu screamed his name with every thrust inside, could feel it in the nails scratching down his back, but he wouldn’t bleed.

 

His lips found Junsu’s neck again, not as smooth or gentle this time around. This time they were desperate, rough, hard kisses pressed to the skin again and again and a barely there warning before his teeth sank into what he knew was heaven.

 

Junsu screamed in ecstasy underneath him and his body trembled as he came.

The afterward wasn’t as awkward as Yoochun had anticipated.

 

Of course, there was the few seconds in which he had thought Junsu was dead that had worried him. And then there was the matter of explaining exactly why Junsu was bleeding and he had been drinking it.

 

All in all, it went pretty well. No garlic. No crucifixes.

 

And Junsu smiled.

They were sitting on the couch a few months later, when Junsu had stopped coming for cups of sugar and started coming for something else entirely.

 

Interesting how Yoochun never heard about that friend of his anymore. But he wasn’t complaining.

 

He was content to sit here, being ridiculously lovey dovey with Junsu resting against him while they both said nothing at all. It was easier that way. Nicer.

 

“Yoochun?”

 

But Junsu was pretty good at changing things up in Yoochun’s life.

 

“Mm?”

 

“Don’t vampires have mates?” There was a short pause, and Yoochun turned his head slightly to look at him.

 

“Come again?” Junsu sat up a little straighter, the way that he did whenever he sensed that Yoochun wasn’t taking him seriously.

 

“Don’t they? I read a book and it said they do. That stays with them forever?”

 

Yoochun swallowed a little uncomfortably. “Yeah, they do. If they turn someone. Or claim them. But, I mean, it’s not so easy. It’s a long and complicated thing. You kind of have to give up the rest of your life, and—“

 

“Yoochun.”

 

Junsu looks at him seriously. Yoochun wonders why he suddenly can’t speak. Is this like a weird sort of proposal?

 

He tilts his head to the side slightly, exposing his neck.

 

Yoochun swallows again.

 

Junsu looks up at him and smiles.

 

“Bite me.”
